Drs Nicolas first established his small private clinic in 1991 at the now famous DNATA building in Deira Dubai. It was at this location that the clinic quickly established itself as a leading Dental Clinic, with an enviable client list including many senior airline personnel and prominent local families in the Emirates. The clinic's reputation for providing the very best treatments in a safe and sterile environment where patients could feel comfortable and relaxed, were unrivaled at the time.
In 1994 Dr. Nicolas found himself unable to keep up with the demand for his services and was encouraged by patients and friends to look for larger premises. Somewhere that could take him nearer to realising his goal of, eventually becoming the Largest Private Dental Health Care Provider in the U.A.E . At this time two other prominent Swedish Dentists were looking to return to the Middle East having practised General Dentistry previously for three years in Dubai. Husband and wife team Dr. Sven & Joan Asp, who were already highly regarded by their professional colleagues and members of their own community and shared the same standards and visions , returned to join Dr. Nicolas at his new premises, a small but ideally situated villa the centre of Jumeira.

Medical Diagnostic and Imaging Centre (MEDIC), Dubai, a high tech medical diagnostic centre was established in 1995 to bridge the gap between the existing medical facilities and the sophisticated advanced diagnostic facilities which were not yet available in Dubai and UAE. It was made possible by the encouragement of the government and Ministry of Health to promote the private investment in health and medical care. Medical and health facilities in the government and private sectors in UAE have come a long way and can be compared to the best available in any of the developed countries.

The late Dr. Abdulhussain Kamkar established the clinic in 1939. It was originally a general practice clinic and the only private clinic in Dubai at that time. In 1997 it transformed to Dr. Kamkar Medical & Physiotherapy Center and added physical therapy, acupuncture and dentistry to the services it provides.
