The past year has been one of continued high achievement and great progress. In 2006-2007, our twenty-fifth academic year, our roll was 2430 students, the highest in the school’s history, and our students’ results in the May/June 2006 British IGCSE, AS and A-level examinations and in the 2005-2006 American PSAT, TOEFL, and SAT tests were excellent. In addition, our graduates were admitted to very competitive courses at top-ranked universities.
Al-Worood was approved for continuing accreditation for the 2006-07 school year by the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) in the USA. To maintain accreditation, our school demonstrated that it continued to meet quality standards and was engaged in an improvement process that enhances student performance. Accreditation demonstrates to our community that we are providing a quality and enriching learning environment for our students.

The Petroleum Institute (PI) was founded by Emiri decree in 2000 under the direction of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. It admitted its first class in fall 2001.

The Petroleum Institute is financed and governed by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and its international partners (Shell, BP, Total, and Japan Oil Development Company). The objective in founding the PI was to provide the UAE and its oil and gas industry with engineers educated and trained to the highest standards. To this end, an agreement was signed by which the Colorado School of Mines would provide academic guidance and support, and assist in the process of achieving international accreditation.

The United Arab Emirates University was established to accomplish a mission, based on a clear, far H.E Sheikh Nahyan reaching vision of H. H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The president of the United Arab Emirates , who succeeded his father the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May his soul rest in peace), of placing UAE University in the forefront of scientific and technical seats of learning comparable to other internationally renowned universities. H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed has provided the university with full support and in return, UAEU has realized the importance of its role in the development of the country.

Al Rayyan National (Pvt.) School was founded in September, ’94 with the objective of imparting high quality English medium education to children of nationals and expatriates irrespective of their religious, racial and linguistic background. The other primary goal of the school has been to reduce the burden on working parents by introducing the concept of self-study session during which most of the students complete their homework in the school itself. This practice also encourages self-reliance among students.
